Privacy policy

Last updated . This policy covers the Sudoku Mori app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.

The short version

  • There is no account, so there is nothing to sign up for.
  • Your puzzles, results and settings are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud backup, they are also stored in your own private iCloud, which we cannot read.
  • The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
  • We do not sell, share or trade anything about you, because we never receive it in the first place.

What the app stores

Sudoku Mori keeps the puzzles you are part way through, the results of the ones you have finished, your statistics and streaks, and your settings, such as the theme, whether the timer is shown and whether haptics are on. All of it is written to the app's own storage on your device.

None of it is sent to us. We have no server that receives it, and no way to see it.

iCloud backup

Backup & iCloud is off unless you turn it on, under Settings then Your data. When it is on, your progress is written to your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so that it follows your Apple ID to your other devices. That data sits in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's terms and readable by you; it is not visible to us. The same screen exports a backup file, and where that file goes is entirely up to you.

Turning the setting off stops new data being written. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device, and the iCloud copy can be removed from your device's iCloud storage settings.

What is never collected

The app does not ask for, and does not collect, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or any advertising identifier. It contains no third-party analytics, attribution or tracking software, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Because none of this is collected from anyone, none of it is collected from children either.

What Apple provides to us

Two things reach us through Apple, and only if you have allowed them in your device settings. Apple may give developers aggregate statistics about downloads, and, if you have opted in to share analytics with developers, crash reports and usage information. Those arrive without your identity attached, and Apple controls what they contain.

If you buy anything through the App Store, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or your billing details.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a change that matters will be noted in the app's release notes. Earlier versions are not kept on this page.

Questions about any of this, or a request about your data, can go to support@sudokumori.com.
