Privacy policy

The short version

• There's no account, so there's nothing to sign up for.
• Your puzzles, results and settings stay on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they are also kept in your own private iCloud, which we can't read.
• Game Center is optional. If you're signed in, your time for a clean first solve of each of today's daily puzzles goes to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, where other players, and we, can see it.
• The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.
• We don't sell, share or trade anything about you. Apart from the top of those leaderboards, we never receive anything about you in the first place.

What the app stores

Sudoku Mori keeps the puzzles you're partway through, the results of the ones you have finished, your statistics and streaks, and your settings, such as the theme, whether the timer is shown and whether haptics are on. All of it is saved in the app's own storage on your device.

None of it is sent to us. There's no server that receives it, and no way for us to see it.

iCloud

If you're signed in to iCloud on your device, the app keeps your progress in sync through Apple's CloudKit, in your private iCloud database, so that it follows your Apple Account to your other devices. There's no separate switch in the app: it happens whenever iCloud is available for Sudoku Mori. That data sits in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's terms and readable by you; it isn't visible to us. Settings then Your data then Backup & iCloud shows the sync status and exports a backup file, and where that file goes is entirely up to you.

Turning iCloud off for Sudoku Mori in your device's iCloud settings stops new data being written. Deleting the app removes the copy on that device, and the iCloud copy can be removed from your device's iCloud storage settings.

Reminders, widgets, sharing and Apple Pencil

The daily reminder is off until you turn it on. It is a notification your device schedules for itself, so nothing is sent to us or anyone else, and it never contains the puzzle.

The Today's tree widget reads a small summary the app writes on your device: today's solved puzzles and their times, your streak and the month's trees. It has no puzzle content and never leaves the device.

Share result makes a picture of your tree on your device and hands it to the system share sheet. Where it goes is your choice; the app sends nothing itself.

On iPad, numbers you write with Apple Pencil are recognised by iPadOS Scribble on the device. The app never stores, syncs or sends your handwriting.

Game Center leaderboards

Game Center is optional, and the app works fully without it. If you're signed in to Game Center on your device, the app lets Game Center recognise you when it opens. When you solve one of today's daily puzzles (Valley, Ridge or Summit) for the first time with no hints and no mistakes, the app sends that time to the day's leaderboard for that level. On iOS and iPadOS 26 you can also challenge friends on those leaderboards. Nothing else is sent.

Leaderboards and challenges are run by Apple under its Game Center terms and privacy policy. Your Game Center name and times are visible to other players, and you can change how you appear, or sign out, in your device's Game Center settings. App Store Connect shows us the top 100 scores of each leaderboard with the players' Game Center names, so that we can remove fake scores; we don't copy or keep them anywhere else.

What's never collected

The app doesn't ask for, and doesn't collect, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, or any advertising identifier. It contains no third-party analytics, attribution or tracking software, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites. Because none of this is collected from anyone, none of it is collected from children either.

What Apple provides to us

Apple may give developers aggregate statistics about downloads and, only if you have opted in to share analytics with developers, crash reports and usage information. Those arrive without your identity attached, and Apple controls what they contain.

If you buy Sudoku Mori Full, the App Store handles the payment. We never see your card or your billing details; the app only checks with the App Store whether the purchase is active on your Apple Account, including through Family Sharing.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a change that matters will be noted in the app's release notes. Earlier versions aren't kept on this page.

If you email us, we receive what you choose to send: your address, your message and anything you attach, such as a backup file. We use it only to answer you.
