iPhone Duo

Sudoku for the iPhone Duo, folded or open.

Sudoku Mori lays itself out for both of the iPhone Duo's screens. Folded, it plays like it does on iPhone. Open it, and the board takes one half of the screen while the numbers and tools take the other.

One app for iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo. The beta is open now on TestFlight.

Unfolded

The wide screen, used like an iPad.

Today's three sit side by side as painted cards, and your forest's hill stands beside the month's goal and your streaks.

During a puzzle

Two halves, one puzzle.

Open, the iPhone Duo is wide enough for the layout the game uses on iPad in landscape, split along the fold instead of across it.

The board gets its own half

The grid fills one half of the screen, so the cells stay square and the digits stay big.

The numbers get the other

The keypad, undo, redo, erase, notes and hint sit in a panel on the other half, with the puzzle's time and mistakes above them.

Nothing on the crease

No cell, button or switch sits on the fold, so a tap never lands in it. Settings opens in one half for the same reason.

Either hand, either side

Choose your hand and the numbers move to its side of the screen, with the board on the other half.

Folded

On the outer screen, a phone.

Folded, the game uses the single column it uses on iPhone. The clock and the camera keep a strip of their own at the side, and during a puzzle Close and Pause wait there too, clear of the board.

Fold, unfold, carry on

The same game in either shape.

  • Fold it mid-puzzle. The layout follows the screen you're using, and your selected cell, Notes and the timer carry on as they were.
  • Hints stay beside the board. Open, a hint's explanation and the end of a puzzle appear in the panel, so the grid stays in view while you read.
  • Offline and ad-free. Nothing downloads while you play, and no version has any ads.
  • Progress is shared. When you're signed in to iCloud, your puzzles and results move between your iPhone Duo, iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud.

New to the grid? The rules of sudoku take about two minutes to read, and the page about sudoku on iPad shows the same two-column layout on a bigger screen.

Common questions

Sudoku on an iPhone Duo.

Does Sudoku Mori work on the iPhone Duo?

Yes. It's the same app as on iPhone and iPad, and it lays itself out for both of the iPhone Duo's screens: a single column folded, and two halves when it's open.

What does a puzzle look like on the unfolded iPhone Duo?

The board takes one half of the screen, and a panel with the keypad, undo, redo, erase, notes and hint takes the other. Nothing you can tap sits on the crease.

Can I put the board on the other side?

Yes. Pick your hand in Settings → Gameplay → Controls. The numbers move to the side of the hand you play with, and the board takes the other half.

What happens if I fold or unfold it during a puzzle?

The game switches to the layout for the screen you're on and keeps your puzzle where it was: the selected cell, Notes and the timer carry on.

How does it look on the folded outer screen?

Like the iPhone version: one column, with the clock and the camera in a strip at the side. During a puzzle, Close and Pause sit in that strip too.

Does it need an internet connection or show ads?

Neither. Sudoku Mori plays fully offline and has no ads in any version, free version included. iCloud sync and Game Center leaderboards are there only if you sign in.

Where do I write about a problem on the iPhone Duo?

Email me at support@sudokumori.com. Tell me whether it happened folded or open, which iOS version you're on, and what you expected to happen.

Fold it, unfold it, keep playing.

One column on the go, two halves when there's room, and nothing on the crease.
